Complete setup guide to get your Roomazon account running in under 15 minutes. Learn to add properties, tenants, and start collecting rent.

Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Roomazon! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and managing your first property in under 15 minutes.

Overview

Roomazon is designed for landlords with 1-10 rental units. Our platform helps you:

  • Track rent payments and send reminders
  • Manage maintenance requests with photos
  • Store important documents
  • Generate financial reports
  • Accept online payments (with Stripe Connect)

Step 1: Create Your Account

Sign Up Process

  1. Go to roomazon.com
  2. Click “Get Started Free”
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Choose between:
    • Magic Link: We’ll email you a secure login link (recommended)
    • Password: Create a traditional password

First Login

After signing up, you’ll land on your dashboard. It will be empty at first - let’s fix that!

Step 2: Complete Your Profile

Business Information

  1. Click Settings in the navigation
  2. Fill out your business profile:
    • Business name (or your name)
    • Contact phone number
    • Business address (for receipts)
  3. Click Save Changes

Email Preferences (Optional)

  1. Go to Email Preferences
  2. Set your notification preferences:
    • Rent reminders
    • Maintenance alerts
    • Payment confirmations
  3. Add your logo for branded emails (Professional plan)

Step 3: Add Your First Property

Navigate to Properties

  1. Click Properties in the main navigation
  2. Click Add Property button

Enter Property Details

Required Information:

  • Property name (e.g., “123 Main St” or “Blue House”)
  • Full address
  • Property type (Single Family, Apartment, etc.)

Optional but Recommended:

  • Number of bedrooms/bathrooms
  • Square footage
  • Purchase price and date (for ROI tracking)
  • Property features

Save and Continue

Click Create Property - you’ll see your property in the list!

Step 4: Add Your First Tenant

From Property Page

  1. Click on your property name
  2. Click Add Tenant button

Tenant Information

Required Fields:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Monthly rent amount
  • Lease start date
  • Lease end date

Optional Fields:

  • Security deposit amount
  • Move-in date
  • Emergency contact

Important Notes

  • Tenants will receive an email invitation to create their portal account
  • They can submit maintenance requests and view payment history
  • Portal access is included in all paid plans

Step 5: Set Up Rent Collection

Automatic Payment Records

When you add a tenant with lease dates, Roomazon automatically:

  • Creates monthly payment records
  • Sets due dates (default: 1st of month)
  • Tracks payment status

Enable Online Payments (Recommended)

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click Enable Online Payments
  3. Complete Stripe Connect setup (5 minutes)
  4. Start accepting credit/debit/ACH payments

  • 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
  • Daily payouts to your bank
